Biography

Sankar Suryanarayan joined the Office of the General Counsel in 2001. He is responsible for providing legal advice to University clients in a variety of areas, including employment (faculty and staff), student affairs, public safety and risk management, non-discrimination/affirmative action, athletics and the art museum. He also manages the University’s general litigation and related insurance coverage issues. Mr. Suryanarayan is actively involved in the National Association of College and University Attorneys (NACUA) and served on NACUA’s Board of Directors. He also served on the NCAA’s Committee on Infractions. Prior to coming to Princeton, he worked as in-house counsel at American University in Washington DC and as a litigation associate with Chadbourne & Parke in New York. He received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and his B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania.
